The STRIP blog post a couple of weeks ago focused on new technology and inspired fashion concepts. One of the main features in the blog post was the adidas knitted football boot. In the spirit of the world cup year, Nike launched the #Magista football boot. Ok so let’s look at this from a 20 year period. Some of the Guys at STRIPclothingS remember a time period when you would be kicked from pillar to pillar if you were flash enough to wear multi coloured boots.
In the world cup of 1994 tiempo was still considered Nike’s best boot and featured kangaroo leather. Romario and Bebeto wore them and Brazil won their 4th star. In the last 8 years everyone has blamed light weight boots for most of the issues surrounding metatarsals being broken. This does not seem to have deterred the powerful brands. Light weight and mesh now seem to be the way to go. Blow and counter blow as adidas launched the first knitted boot and Nike launches a more innovative (STRIP opinion) Fly knit boot! Where will it all end? Let the world cup wars begin….. #KeepItSTRIP
