Condemnations and aspirations,
They don’t go hand in hand,
Though you are more than you know,
It’s time for you to take your stand.
Who told you, you can’t?
Who told you, you won’t succeed?
Step away from this social dependency, this need,
To be validated based on pretend credibility,
By money, status and greed.
Ask, believe, achieve and receive,
It’s that simple.
Yes, there will be struggles, yes there will be hard times,
But at least you’ll be going down in history and not for petty crimes.
Be who you want to be, no need for gangs and conformity.
Take a chance on yourself, open up to finding inner wealth.
We all have our hang ups, our issues and a hurdle,
And there will be times when your fears will make you want to quit, and your stomach curdle.
You will see others, they make it look so easy.
They have all you want, their lives so bright and breezy.
But what you must remember is not to be jealous,
Take inspiration from others and use it to become zealous.
Life is a journey, but within it is a game.
Use your gifts wisely and you could have it all. In working hard, there is no shame.
Look inside. For your innermost desires, turn that into fuel for your fires.
Take the hands of those who want to help,
Turn away from those who want to hinder.
Those who hide behind their hands, point and snigger.
You have it in you, to create a life, bolder, better and bigger.
Make something, take something, of your own design,
Turn your passion into something you’ll be proud to sign.
Use your mind and take what you envision,
Become what you want to be, it’s your decision.
You don’t need a street title, make a name for yourself,
Take a chance, step out and earn yourself, some real wealth.
Take what you have within, use all your heartache and strife,
To pave a new path and change your life.
